Another advantage to Galera
is its accessibility to other places of interest in
Spain. If the coast takes your fancy then a 1½
hour drive will find you on the sandy beaches of the
Costa de Almeria. However, if skiing is more your style
then a 1½ hour drive in the opposite direction
will lead you to the snowy mountains of the Sierra Nevada.
In addition there are a number of
other attractions that lie in closer proximity to Galera.
In the neighbouring villages, there are natural spring
swimming pools with fish ; natural hot springs and Turkish
baths which leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Galera itself boasts an interesting archaeological site
and museum. There is little that can not be reached
from Galera and for these reasons it is an ideal and
attractive base.
